ALPHA LAKE

Where

  • Alpha Lake is the first lake coming into Whistler, located in Creekside Village.

NITA LAKE

Where

  • Nita lake is also located near Creekside village, behind Nita Lake lodge.

  • Take the #10, #20 or #25 SOUTH to Creekside, and walk 5 mins along the valley trail

ALTA LAKE

LAKESIDE PARK

  • Located in Alta Vista on the lakeside road

  • Small sandy beach

  • Large grassy area to sit

  • Large doc

  • Floating swimming doc

  • Children’s play structure

  • Food trucks

  • Concession stand

  • Picnic tables and barbecue stands

  • Canoe rentals

How to get there

  • #10, #20, #25 BC transit south to Alta Visa stop, and walk approximately 5 minute to the lake

  • Parking very limited

 

WAYSIDE PARK

  • This is a smaller scale park close to Creekside

Highlights

  • Small beach and grassy area

  • Dock

  • Canoe, kayak and paddleboard rentals

  • Picnic tables and BBQ stands

  • Concession stand

  • Washrooms

How to get there

  • Take the #20 or #21 Bc transit SOUTH to the Nordic drive stop and walk over the overpass to the valley trail south

 

RAINBOW PARK

  • Located on the west side of Whistler valley.

  • Rainbow park has lots of space and was the side of the historical rainbow lodge built by Whistler Pioneer Myrtle Philip

  • Pleasant 20-minute bike ride along the valley trail from the village, just off Alta lake road

LOST LAKE

Where

  • The closest lake to Whistler village, located

How to get there

  • Take free lost lake shuttle #8 to Lost Lake Park. Buses run daily from June 25 until Labour Day.

GREEN LAKE

Where

  • Located north of the village, Green Lake is the last lake before leaving Whistler. Across from Emerald neighbourhood.

Highlights

  • Boat launch - Green Lake is the only lake allowed to have large engine boats. Perfect spot for tubing & wakeboarding. Must have a life jacket, bailer, whistle and flashlight if on the lake after sunset

  • Picnic tables

  • Floatplane dock

  • Watercraft rentals

How to get there

  • Take the # 30 or #32 bus north to rainbow estates, green lake lookout, or emerald estates stops. Depending on where you get off, the lake is about a 5-minute walk.

  • Take the valley trail north via bike to explore around green lake
